As we arrived, the car salesman was in the middle of a heated debate with what he called a "prostitute" which admittedly did ring alarm bells but against my better judgement I decided to go on with looking at a car.Needless to say, this was a mistake. When I paid the deposit I was asked if I wanted the car within 5 days which I thought was reasonable. On my return visit, 6 days later, the car was still not ready. It had passed the MOT despite the car missing two lightbulbs and a bald tyre. They told us to hang around and wait for the vehicle. Two hours later I was told the car would actually be ready the following day. As I returned the following day, they had replaced the tyre but I noticed that they had scraped the front bumper and the car was still not ready (passenger window would not open which was highlighted on my first visit, to be fixed before I pick the car up). I was advised they would order the parts in to fix the window and that I could take the car now and to bring it back when the parts arrived so they could fix it. I agreed to take the car home (against my better judgement). As I drove home, I was ready for my usual singalong and switched on the radio to find that one of the speakers was broken. Despite this, I parked the car to find that the car would not lock (car had a manual lock which did not work on any of the keyholes). When I called the garage I was advised to keep the car until the next day. I declined this as they stated they would not be liable if anything happened to the car overnight. I decided to drive it back to the garage (my fourth visit to the garage for a single car). On the drive back to the garage I also found that two lights were still not working- having been told this was resolved. I was told that the lights had blown since the MOT (dispite visibly seeing that neither of the broken lights actually having bulbs in them). Having taken it back to the garage, the manager was very defensive when I mentioned the car had somehow managed to pass an MOT with multiple lights missing and with an incredibly bald and definitely illegal tyre). They clearly weren't happy with my calling this out. I left the car there overnight and was told the car would be ready the following day. This went of for 3 weeks. With multiple messages exchanged between us and constantly being told the car would be ready the following day. All I wanted was an honest idea of when the car would be ready but they constantly set my expectations incorrectly. I finally picked up the car just over a week ago to find that there is still work to be done. I was advised the stereo is fixed but it is now not picking up an radio channels and the speaker is still broken when using the CD player. The drivers side window does not open when the headlights are switched on, there is a slow puncture in one of the tyres and I am still waiting for a window switch to be delivered (I have been waiting over a week and have had no reply to my messages at all- I'm not expecting this to arrive). After the experience I have had (and co tinue to have) with Abbey Motors in Neath, I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy. This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. If you decide to purchase a car from Abbey Motors, good luck!
